We are actively hiring SIGINT Language Analyst:
Native Capability to join our team based in Rockville, Maryland.
SIGINT Language Analyst:
Native Capability must be able to demonstrate increasing levels of cryptologic language processing based on the Skill Level of the analyst.
Skill Level 2, 3, and 4 analysts must meet the requirements of lower skill levels in addition to the skill level of which they have applied.
Languages vary according to skill level and include Modern Standard Arabic (text only), Arabic-Levantine (audio only), Arabic-Iraqi (audio only), Arabic-Egyptian (audio only), Chinese (Mandarin), Farsi, French, German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Spanish, Turkish, and Urdu.
Requirements Skill Level 1 SIGINT Language Analyst:
Native Capability must demonstrate the following skills:
Ability to comprehend written and/or spoken material in the required language that includes references and vocabulary related to common social situations and everyday life in countries where the language is widely spoken.
Demonstrate sufficient English skills to render the main points of straightforward, factual materials in the required language into English with a reasonable degree of accuracy.
Demonstrated proficiency typing on an English-language keyboard.
Must possess understanding of a broad vocabulary and commonly spoken forms of the required language.
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED); Associates degree or higher education preferred.
Must possess at least Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) Skill Level 2 in Audio Translation Performance and/or Translation Performance into standard American English.
Candidate must possess ILR skill level validation within two (2) years prior to consideration or candidate must test via Government approved test.
Native Capability is defined for the purpose of this labor category as having learned the language since birth; and having been formally educated in, and via, the language for a minimum of ten (10) years, in a country where the language is an official, national, or commonly spoken language.
Exception:
In the case of a language/dialect that is not an official or national language and formal public education is not conducted in the language/dialect, Native Capability is defined as having learned and used the language/dialect since birth; and having used the language for at least fifteen (15) years in a region where the language/dialect is commonly used among a historically rooted population of resident speakers who employ the language/dialect in social, cultural, employment, economic, or other public sphere interactions beyond immediate family/household use.
Skill Level 2 SIGINT Language Analyst:
Native Capability must demonstrate the following skills in addition to Skill Level 1:
Ability to comprehend written and/or spoken standard and substandard contemporary forms of the required language including complex grammar and syntax.
Ability to comprehend material in the required language that includes idioms, colloquialisms, subtleties and nuances, emotions, and attitudes.
Ability to produce accurate translations of complex material from the required language into idiomatic American English.
Demonstrated proficiency typing on an English-language keyboard.
Associate of Arts (AA)/Associate of Science (AS) degree, or equivalent from other countries; Bachelor's degree or higher education preferred.
In lieu of the associate degree, an additional two (2) years' experience performing translation of materials (minimum ILR Level 3) from the required language(s) into English may be substituted.
Must possess at least Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) Skill Level 3 in Audio Translation Performance and/or Translation Performance into standard American English.
Candidate must possess ILR skill level validation within two (2) years prior to consideration or candidate must test via Government approved test.
Skill Level 3 SIGINT Language Analyst:
Native Capability must demonstrate the following skills in addition to lower skill levels:
Understanding of how language is used to convey information about interpersonal relationships and attitudes.
Ability to produce accurate translations of complex material from the required language into idiomatic American English which reflect the author's/speaker's style and convey subtleties and nuances.
Demonstrated proficiency typing on an English-language keyboard.
Equivalent of four (4) years full-time experience performing translation of materials (minimum ILR Level 3) from the required language(s) into English.
Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) Skill Level 3 in Audio Translation Performance and/or Translation Performance from the required language(s) into idiomatic, standard American English.
Scores from the NSA Civilian Language Test of Record, valid at time of resume submission, may be used as acceptable validation for text translation and audio translation skill level(s).
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent from other countries; Master's degree or higher education preferred.
In lieu of the bachelor's degree, an additional four (4) years of directly related, applied, practical work experience may be substituted for a total of eight (8) years' experience.
Skill Level 4 SIGINT Language Analyst:
Native Capability must demonstrate the following skills in addition to lower skill levels:
Ability to fully comprehend highly sophisticated written and spoken material in the required language.
Ability to fully comprehend cultural, social, economic and political references in the required language and explain their significance in the given context.
Ability to produce accurate translations of complex and abstract material from the required language into idiomatic American English, preserving the author's/speaker's style and conveying explicit and implicit meaning.
Ability to edit and perform quality control reviews of language products (ex.
translations, transcripts, gists) generated by other language professionals, including those based on abstract and complex topics.
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent from other countries; Master's degree or higher education preferred.
In lieu of the bachelor's degree, an additional four (4) years of directly related, applied, practical work experience may be substituted for a total of twelve (12) years' experience.
Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) Skill Level 3 in both Audio Translation Performance and Translation Performance from the required language(s) into idiomatic, standard American English.
Scores from the NSA Civilian Language Test of Record, valid at time of resume submission, may be used as acceptable validation for text translation and audio translation skill level(s).
Equivalent of eight (8) years full-time experience performing translation of materials (minimum ILR Level 3) from the required language(s) into idiomatic, standard American English.
At least four (4) of the eight (8) years' experience shall be in cryptologic Operations performing language processing in the required language(s).
At least three (3) of the four (4) years' cryptologic Operations experience shall be in translating and/or transcribing, and gisting.
Two (2) of the four (4) years' cryptologic Operations experience shall be within four (4) years of resume submission.
Contingent Upon Contract Award .
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
