MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

As a MAINTENANCE MECHANIC at the WG-4749-10 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Performs electrical work installing, modifying, repairing, and testing new and existing electrical lines, circuits, and systems including wiring, conduit and other electrical equipment. Work involves diagnosing and locating malfunctions, dismantling, repairing, reassembling, installing, replacing, and performing preventative maintenance on large systems that provide for a variety of heating, ventilation and air conditioning. Installs, modifies, and repairs new and existing utility, supply, and disposal systems. Develops contract specifications and inspects the services rendered by contractors and completes necessary forms in accordance with inspection duties. Possess experience in repair and preventative maintenance on large systems that provide for a variety of heating, ventilation and air conditioning; Construction, installing, repairing and modifying wood and wood substitutes structures and items such as building frames, rafters, concrete forms, walls, interior and exterior trim and miscellaneous items; Maintaining, repairing or modifying for accessibility, and occasionally structures of concrete, block, and occasionally brick or other related materials; Installs, modifies, and repairs new and existing utility, supply, and disposal systems and preparing and painting walls, ceilings, and fixtures. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
