IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC)

Salary Ranges includes local market supplement This is a GG-15 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-15 duties for the Professional work category are at the Expert work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-15 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. BASIC REQUIREMENT Education:
All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions Undergraduate or Graduate Education:
Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. OR
Experience:
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. Experience:
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. Examples of creditable experience include:
mastery of full spectrum CO functions, techniques, and facilitating technologies and capabilities, and ability to lead SME teams in leveraging these methods and supporting assets in support of nation defense. Note:

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of full spectrum cyberspace operations (CO) functions, techniques, and facilitating technologies and capabilities and ability to optimally leverage them in support of nation defense. 2. Ability to conduct military/contingency and crisis action planning for CO to support the secure operations of national defense-critical IT assets, as well as to protect against, detect, and/or mitigate IT and cyberspace vulnerabilities. Ability to lead and work collaboratively with other subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop innovative CO strategies, methods, and technical controls. 4. Experience in application of CO concepts, practices, and capabilities to ensure the successful planning and execution of full spectrum fires. 5. Ability to work with and support operational-level CO teams through the DoD cyberspace program community to support their implementation of targeting orders. 6. Significant knowledge of offensive cyber capabilities, development practices, test and evaluation techniques and guidelines, and capability lifecycle management practices. 7. Ability to communicate complex technical and programmatic information on CO, often in the form of orders, but also in verbal and visual operational updates, situation reports, and briefings. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
