As a INVESTIGATIVE ASSISTANT you will be responsible for the following duties:
Performs a variety of technical and administrative duties in support of the program. Conducts a variety of records checks which includes verifying identifying data and searching for information of a discrepant or derogatory nature. Fosters good working relationships with individuals such as Federal, State and Commercial records custodians, records supervisors, and database administrators. Prepares testimonies summarizing information found and stating pertinent facts. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience required for this position is:
Conducts a variety of records checks which includes verifying identifying data and searching for information of a discrepant or derogatory nature; Ensures timely processing of daily workload as directed by the supervisor/team leader; Ability to learn unique automated systems and applications used by various Federal agencies; Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing using correct grammar, spelling, punctuation in order to prepare clear and concise reports and correspondence; Participates in fostering good working relationships with individuals and teams such as Federal, State and Commercial records custodians, records supervisors, and database administrators.     $48,670 to $63,267 per year

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
