Position Objective: Provides personnel security administrative support in an office environment. Responsibilities include JPAS administrative duties and security records management. Serves as a lead for the personnel Security Assistant Team.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Ensure productivity and deliverables are met within the team.
Working closely with the Program Manager to ensure tasks are completed by team.
Update staff and keep all interested parties in the program informed of progress and any issues that may arise.
Possess the ability to perform the following tasks with minimal direction.
Analyze and review newly submitted e-QIP forms.
Sort, date stamp, and file incoming case files to be processed for adjudication.
Pull files requested by adjudicators, Branch Chief or other staff.
Process requests from Facility Security Officers (FSOs) within JPAS.
Enter hardcopy incident reports into JPAS as final status.
Create and maintain database tracking systems in JPAS.
Prepare response letters for adjudicators.
Collect, scan, hyperlink and file Forms.
Request State Department verifications for adjudicators. Enter request into spreadsheet, send emails to State Department, update and distribute RFAs.
Notify OPM of a subject's transfer or separation from initial requesting facility.
Check JPAS for discontinued notices for termination. If subject has not been terminated, send a letter to FSO using JPAS or send a hardcopy to the facility.
Verify clearance and access for work performance on US/foreign contracts overseas.
Troubleshoot previously processed visitors request; answer questions from FSO's on how to complete required forms; research any issue concerning visit requests.
Process foreign facility clearance requests.
Review received forms for completeness; separate forms as acceptable or rejected. Enter rejected forms into JPAS or mail letter to FSO. Enter acceptable forms into database.
Contact FSO to determine subject's current location for subject interview, whether individual still requires a clearance, or if moved to another facility.
Provide customer service to the United States Information Service (USIS) requests pertaining to a subject's status in JPAS.
Send and distribute all facsimiles for adjudicators to various agencies.
Generate weekly statistics for each contractor, and maintain overall balance of unacceptable case notices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic
Qualifications:
High School diploma
Four years' work experience
Minimum
Qualifications:
Must meet one of the following:
4 years of relevant work experience with a High School Diploma
2 years of relevant work experience with an Associate's Degree
Must be able to obtain an interim Top Secret Clearance at a minimum with the ability to possess a full Top Secret Clearance
Working knowledge of the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS)
Working knowledge of Industrial Security Reporting System (ISRS)
Working knowledge of Industrial Security Facilities Database (ISFD)
Working knowledge of Defense Clearance and Investigations Index (DCII)
Working knowledge of OPM's e-QIP industrial and personnel security applications/systems
Effective oral and written communication skills

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
