Structural Analysis - Mechanical Engineer with Security Clearance

Analysis of mechanical components and assemblies for airborne systemsSupport design engineers in selection of materials, structures, hardware suitable for application in the payloadSupport testing to validate engineering analysis modelsWork closely with partners to convert vehicle operation envelop definition and customer requests into analysis requirementsReview sub-contractor analysis resultsAdvise team on design maturation for mechanical performanceSoftware utilized will be Solidworks, NASTRAN, PATRAN, and AnsysHere's What You'll Need:
o ABILITY TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN A SECURITY CLEARANCE.
o Minimum of 5 years in Mechanical Engineering Experience or Equivalent (Master's degree may be used).
o Bachelor's degree in Aerostructures, Mechanical, Aerospace engineering, or similar.
o Subject Matter Expertise in the fundamental principles for performing mechanical design and analysis including static and dynamic structural, vibracoustic, fatigue, and vibrationHighly Proficient with NASTRAN.
o Proficient with Ansys, Design Modeler, and Spaceclaim.
o Familiarity with linear and non-linear analysis.
o Familiarity with analysis of aluminum, carbon fiber, and fiberglass structuresHand calculations and FEA experience.
o Familiarity with and ability to use and manipulate technical drawings in mechanical CAD tools such as SolidWorks or similar.
o Ability to work across mechanical, aeronautical, electrical, and materials engineering disciplines.
o Excellent written and verbal communication and technical documentation skills.
o Works well as a part of a team.
o Good interpersonal skills including a passionate and can-do attitude.
o Strong problem-solving skills.
o Able to work independently and as part of a teamPreferred:
o Basic machine shop and small part fabrication experience.
o Composite and Aluminum design and fabrication experience.
o Proficient with additional analysis tools including Ansys Icepak or Sherlock.
o 5
years of experience with airborne systems.
o Experience with aerospace vehicle or flight hardware.
o Experience with airframe or airborne stores design.
o Expertise with MIL-STD-810, RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-8591, MIL-STD-8856, MIL-STD-1763.
o Expertise with thermal management and CFD.
o Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or similar advanced degree.
o Clearance:
Not required to startMust be able obtain and maintain a security clearance (minimum Secret)Clearance processing will be completed by the U.
