A$ A' A' ?MITRE's Mission Assurance & Crypto Department (N141) is seeking talented engineers with a background in cyber security technologies and a passion to integrate them in innovative ways to solve hard problems.
Our department is focused on developing and fielding the next generation of high-assurance crypto solutions to secure our most critical information against the rapidly developing quantum-computing threat.
The MITRE crypto team is a critical technical resource in the Air Force's Cryptographic Modernization Program, and influenced related modernization efforts across Navy, Army, US Space Force, and NSA.
The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative team of scientists and engineers who are working to formulate solutions to our nation's most critical problems like how to modernize the nation's crypto to meet the quantum threat.

Responsibilities:
In-depth technical understanding of symmetric and asymmetric cryptographic algorithms and the government agency Evaluation/Certification ProcessesDevelop new and novel cryptographic technology concepts that support sponsor investment in cryptographic resiliency to defend against advanced and evolving threatsWork closely with the sponsor, research labs, trusted vendor community, and members of the AF/DoD operational communitySupport the development/deployment of crypto capability in a more agile manner to meet the speed of the evolving threatApply strong interpersonal skills to work across organizational interests to execute engineering efforts and produce secure systems for our customerRequired
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related field and 5 years of related experience; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job stepCandidate must possess an active Secret clearance and have the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI clearanceApplied knowledge of Systems Engineering and system security engineeringUnderstanding of encryptions processes, algorithms and standardsUnderstanding of device certification standards and processesAwareness of DoD acquisition processes and information assurance requirementsMust have demonstrated proficiency and strength in verbal, written, PC, presentation, and communications skillsPreferred
Qualifications:
Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearanceFamiliarity with the DOD acquisition process and Information Assurance requirementsPossess strong analytical and modeling skillsProven understand of terrestrial, airborne and satellite communication systems and their effects on cryptographic algorithm and mode selection5 to 7 years experience in crypto systems with emphasis on technology development/ demonstration a plus.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
